Description:

The TIME Out (This Is Me Everybody) Program is a sibling support program for kids aged between 8-12 and a teens group, in Broadmeadows and Brunswick. The main focus of these groups is on providing participants with an opportunity to meet with other children who are also from families with a child with a disability and have fun together. Activities include games, crafts, free play, cooking, and occasional excursions to bowling, movies or youth centres. In a safe and supportive atmosphere, facilitators and kids discuss the challenges, feelings and experiences of being a sibling. These groups provide regular time away from the family setting and all the responsibilities and limitations which being a sibling can entail. Primary aged kids meet fortnightly throughout the year and the teens groups run for 8 weeks. School holiday excursions, outings, links with other services, information and support are other benefits of the TIME Out program.
