Description:

A recreational and activities group which offers activities once a month, an occasional camp and an annual Big Day Out. Recreational activities include the cinema, tourist places, video nights, cooking activities, bowling, etc. The aim of the group is to extend the siblings' social groups, all the while encouraging an informal process of sharing sibling experiences. The group is unique in inviting each sibling to bring along a friend to certain activities. This helps in promoting community education to the siblings' peers about disability and spreads a broader understanding of sibling experiences within the disability context. For siblings (and their friends), co-ed, primary and secondary school ages. The program is not disability specific. Activities invite a subsidised fee from families, though this is negotiable.
