Parent Workshops 2013-2014

We plan to visit 19 locations across Victoria to run workshops for parents/carers/guardians of children with a disability, starting later this year. We want Victorian families of children with a disability to be more confident, knowledgeable, skilled and active in planning and making decisions, and our workshops and information resources aim to support parents towards achieving this goal.

Professional Development for Service Providers and Students

The focus of our professional development work is to provide a parent/family perspective on what life is like for families of children with a disability and the improvements needed to better assist families. Even the best service providers need a regular 'reality check' to remind them of what life is like from a family perspective and how to work better in partnership with families.

We offer parent/family input as part of training and professional development programs through our Family Perspectives on Disability presentations for the full range of service providers and professionals who work with family of children with a disability. This includs existing professionals and service providers as well as undergraduate students and trainee workers.
